Already one month in. Is the thought of the rest of this year stretching ahead making you feel a bit like... ....And perhaps, already you've ended up just wanting to... Well don't you worry, you have your New Years resolutions to keep you on track.....right?..... Oh, you've already broken yours... me too. Hmm. Well, luckily YOU DON'T HAVE TO FEEL BAD! Because although January is already passed, it is NEVER too late to sprinkle some sweetness into your life. I have here 16 small things that you can most definitely achieve this year. So even if you fail your degree, contract bird flu or get caught in every storm Frank, Jack and Sally that the British Isles has to offer, you can sit happily with this little pick me up pic 'n' mix of mantras that may just be the spoonful of sugar to make this year your super sweet 2016... ...don't mock them till you've tried them. 1. Smile at dogsWhen smiling at humans just seems like too much effort, there's always a woofer who'd be willing to wag it's tail in return for a flash of your pearly whites. No judgement, no awkward small talk, just a friendly exchange that can boost your mood. 2. Go to the SaunaIt's like a warm hug that requires no social skills to attain. Don't have a sauna? Crank up the radiator. 3.Stretch in the morning4. Get creative5. Make and effort to socialise6.Co-ordinate7.Dance8.Spontaneous gifts9. Take time to organise11. Set realistic goals12. ICECREAM.You really need no excuse. Every human has a right to icecream. Grab a spoon and dig in. 13. Don't be so hard on yourselfHonestly. It's okay. So you didn't finish your essay. Be a sponge of sound and suck in every single syllable of knowledge, nurture, nature and nonsense from the world. 15. Get some good nights sleepSo when you feel yourself stressing about a bad decision you made, or driving yourself mad with all the things you have to do. Just stop, think about which box you're in. If it's not the present box, the 'now', then imagine yourself calmly leaving the left or right box, and returning to the central one. This is where you need to be. So there, 16 little things you can do, not so hard are they?
Take it or leave it, 2016 IS happening, and it can be as super sweet as you want it to be. It's all about those little tangible tasks to treat yourself, take tactical time and truly take this year for yourself. Trust me.
