I've never seen Forrest Gump, but his insight into the metaphorical value of chocolate boxes has me both intrigued and inspired. This inspiration particularly grew in my mind as I spent my 'pre-Christmas build-up' living away from my family for the first time. Homesickness and spending a little too much time thinking about present buying melted together into some deep thought this December...
So here goes, my family box of chocolates that is hopefully not too sickly sweet for post-Christmas dinner. Family is like a box of chocolates... Daddy-Chili & dark chocolate truffleDid you know that the molecular difference between chilli and chocolate is really, r eally, really small? Oh of course you did, you're daddy; you're THE daddy, neigh, my daddy. My father, Papa It will always be this way. Sorry no exchanges only circumstantial changes of distance near or far. My anecdotal story teller wisdom mountain, knowledge fountain an interest to all, over 6ft tall my metaphorical unbrella. Procrastinator, decision maker a terrible joke creator. More to the point, the dark chocolate richness you have is clear, each and every year. Plus a fiery chili-like fiery and bellowing voice... ....I hope this explains my choice. Mummy- Sea salted caramel truffleBeautifully unstoppable and forever in motion. A force one might describe as energetic like the ocean. You may be my mother, but you're more like a best friend. Like the sea on the horizon, your fabulousness never ends. Shopping together, working together, guiding me in the year I was unwell. The best mum in my eyes, always a surprise, You are my sea-salted Carole-mel Ceej. Peanut butter truffleYou're Vegan now right? Or was that yesterdays adventure? Now you only eat polenta, and live at the fitness centre? Well whatever. You are Ceej. So I wont try to make sense of your nonsense, I'm just looking for some constant... ..and hey! I think I found it. It's nothing truly drastic, or sarcastic. It's your ideas ideas IDEAS! that see you through the years. And when all the fads disappear, one thing will always be clear: Ceej is not Ceej without your novel idea to ALWAYS add a smear of peanut butter. Gabi- Coffee truffle
Solomon-Hazelnut praline truffle
Saskia- Blueberry & VanillaSassy & sweet, with slightly large feet. The last Feingold in line, unmistakably kind. sometimes quite rude, but you brighten my mood. You know how to chill, and that is a skill, so I wish you good will with the sassy sweet taste of blueberry & Vanille Merry Christmas Family.
